China forbids minors from playing violent video games.

China have decided to ban all people under the age of 18 from accessing games where PKing is allowed. So that covers basically any game where PvP results in death (pretty much every PvP game then. Wonder if that covers versions of games that feature PvP, but have servers where PKing isn’t allowed ? Come to that, you could push the envelope further and try and let everyone of all ages access the game (within other age restrictions of course) and just block access to specific areas.

Personally I have to say I kinda agree with what they’re trying to do. A lot of research says it makes no difference, and that today’s youth has actually gotten less violent since the inception of video games into mainstream culture in the late 80’s/early 90’s ()

Fini.

Well that about rounds it up for today (technically yesterday, but never mind). I’ll be integrating this with my daily news absorption ritual so hopefully my annoying habit won’t crop up and kill this in the bud as well.
