Adam Linden is the worst example of customer support I’ve ever come across

Yeah that’s right.

I’m not allowed into Second Life for another 12 hours, because Adam Linden took offense at my inability to express myself full with the english language, and the other psycological problems I have that affect my inter-personal skills. Like someone not accepting an apology because I’m not expressing it a way that they understand. Last time I checked, any member of a company should be kind and curteous to a customer support, and fob them off with pleasentness rather than insulting them and demonstrating a lack of self restraint.

I do not appreciate having a panic attack triggered because some stupid prick didn’t take into account that I have psychological problems that affect my inter-personal interaction. I’ve no idea if my panic attack is caused through the anger from being insulted in such a petty way, or being agorophobic and suddenly getting a massive wave of claustraphobia because my only means of dealing with my agophobia was stripped away from me. Fuck You Adam. Fuck You.

You might remember Adam Linden as the prick who has ignored my medical problems before.

Account of personal feelings and experiences with Adam Linden. No logs can be provided this time due to my getting booted. Expletives used as syntactically correct expressions of emotion.

Post Scripts and Edits:

PS: comments are open to all, and will be posted uncensored once I recieve notification of them, so you’re welcome to post your personal view of events once you read this Adam. I don’t mind admitting when I’m wrong, or letting both sides of a story be viewed uncensored.

PS: for future reference- don’t ever try to use a graphics tablet during a panic attack.
it’s near impossble to work through the shakes and degraded hand-eye co-ordination.

PS: The other Lindens I’ve dealt with, including Hamlet before he was Hamlet Au have all managed to deal with my problems by fobbing me off with pleasentness, or catching me at a receptive time. The aftermath of a griefer attack is not a receptive time.

Note to all Lindens and other SL residents: if you ever catch me at a bad time, gauge my previous responses and make one of the following choices to get rid of me:

  1. fob me off with pleasantness.
  2. make me come to my senses using the following phrase “it seems I’ve caught you at a bad time, I’ll leave you till you’ve calmed down”.
  3. Distract me into another mindset with a humorous link or a non-patronising intellectual/technical question.

This panic attack ranks higher than the reaction I had when I was locked in my flat for three hours because some vandal stole the pin between the door handles, preventing the handle from turning the bolt that holds the door shut.

Advantage to having a broken ADSL connection: is a good reason not to have purchased a premium account.

Symptoms of reaction:
  • Increased heart rate (I tend to go dizzy and get blurred vision for several seconds when I stand up sometimes).
  • Full Body shakes (level usually only experienced with extreme cold).
  • Aggrevated joint paint (lovely little joint disorder similar to a mild case of arthritis, is still bloody painful).
  • Tinnitus triggered/sense of hearing heightend (I’m sensitive to extreme ranges of sound, so if it goes overkill I’m thankfull I’ve got a new PC with quiet fans and a powerful stero that can drown out all the ambient noise of the neighbours and cars driving past on the motorway).
  • Depression triggered (getting stripped of your only ability to manage your Agorophobia tends to do that).
  • Paranoia triggered. How am I supposed to know the difference between getting booted out of SL because the sim went down and petty revenge ?

Please note that although the situation was resolved, and I bear no ill feelings towards Adam Linden, I’m still leaving the post up.

Second Life and paranoia: a protest placeholder

Second Life Residents privacy and comfort under threat ?

After coming across a site on the RSS feed for second life, it has come to my paranoid attention that the privacy and comfort of Second Life residents is under threat.

How it is under threat.

Through my conversation with Adam Linden, and Bub Linden (which i haven’t posted cos I was in the middle of a damn proof of concept test and forgot to save it first) it has come to my attention that Linden Labs as a company know that there are sites existing which make the keys of the relevant residents available to everyone able to make use of the site. This data can then be used by LSL for nefarious purposes to send intrusive SPAM.

It is (according to Adam Linden) Linden Labs position that they do not do pre-emptive take downs of sites unless they recieve a strong call from the second life residents to take it down.

What I’m going to do.

I’m not going to link to the site. It’s available on the net, I’m not going to help spread it further.

I’m making a post here, I’ve made a copy of the chat archive available for everyone to read, with Adam Lindens permission.

I’m making a post on the SL forum and the SL votes thing (if i can figure out how to use them).

So as not to throw up any hint of SPAM I shall not be interlinking anything unless requested.

I will be linking from here to Second Life sites tho.

What it’d be really really nice if this issue affects you.

Make a post here please :-P Ask questions, give support etc.

Make a post in the forum.

Make a vote on the votes section.

What I don’t want you to do under any circumstances.

Directly or Indirectly make use of any information for nefarious purposes.

Directly or Indirectly break the Law.

Directly or Indirectly break the Second Life TOS/license agreement/whatever.

Directly or Indirectly piss Linden Labs off.

Directly or Indirectly cause people or agencies etc to come knocking at my door.

Directly or Indirectly cause any of my accounts to be closed.

3 Month Backlog of photos. Plussed I’m pissed off.

I hate trying to get things done on a windows box.

Backlog of photos.

I had a 3 month back log of photos I took within Second Life to upload to my flickr account. It’s taken me about 2-3 hours to convert, tag, title, and describe every photo.

The photos of me at Mac World and the polluting Prim rig are up.

Pissed off.

Can’t access my uni files for some reason, and the windows box took a hissy fit this morning, making it really difficult to do anything.

I was at Mac World. w000t.

I was at Mac World today.

So I’m hanging around in the empty, low lag sim that is the poluting Oil Rig in ANWR. Along comes Brent Linden, and with him everyone at Mac World. Geek out moment.

Photographic proof, along with transcripts and the photos of the polluting oil rig itself that i took last year while chatting with Hamlet Linden coming over the weekend.

ps. forgive the spelling mistakes (if any), I’ve yet to install the spell check extension after moving and upgrading my Firefox instal.

Moving House: The Connection is coming….

I will have ADSL tomorrow.

I am writing pre-emptively to tell you all I will be on the net tomorrow in my own home. Right now, I am writing from the iBook lent to me by my friend using my mother’s house.

My net connection goes live tomorrow, and although I’m not due to recieve my modem till friday, my mother has the same modem (albeit from a different ISP but that doesn’t matter). So I’ll be nabbing it tomorrow, and although I won’t be on the net anywhere near as long as I would be normally, I will finally be able to access the net on a full 2 meg fat pipe that’s enough bandwidth for me and my gf to play SL– 4 at a push, as the pipe is 4 times the speed of my mothers pipe. So tomorrow i should be blogging about my fantastic pipe (or poor performance of expected bandwidth). If not I shall be busy kicking fellow SL resident Jess’s ass on a Mac vs PC B&W match.

Cast list for SL webcomic Life in the Pen.

Well I got Jezebella confused with Brigette for some reason, but the cast list is finally up.

There’s only myself, Kirara, frankenson and Jezebella up their at the moment but hopefully that should expand as Life in the Pen goes on.

Kirara Proudfoot got around to uploading the first issue.

The first issue is up, take a look at it on Kirara’s WordPress blog.

I’m in the first frame. Yay! :-)

Made a mistake, it’s Jezebella Desmoulins, not Brigette Javelin in the first issue.

Too many idiots to deal with.

There’s too many people to deal with cos everyone seems to want to fuck everything up. Moving home is annoying.

The draft rules will remain on the blog, but DO NOT CONTACT ME IN SL ABOUT THEM. I’m sick of people sending me messages about the bloody rules when I always tell them leave comments on the fricking blog.

The photos of That lesbian sex session are up.

Well, at least the first 16 are.

The first 16 photos of the lesbian sex session mentioned in the first issue of Life In the Pen have been uploaded to my flickr account.

That’s just under half of the photos. I’ve got to re-sort the order of them, cos Flickr haven’t fixed their useless uploader yet.

Second Life, a good, clean place to live. Or is it ?

Linden Labs not Eco Friendly ?

So after spending some time with friends in SL, I was using the map tool to check if some other friends were home before I tp’d in on them. I use a graphics tablet to control mouse movements in SL, something which the map interface does not like, so I had to zoom out.

What I discovered.

What I discovered was a large stretch of ocean between the main continent and the north continent of the SL Grid. So I teleported over, and had to fly the rest of the way (an experience soon to be gone, hopfully). What I found was a little odd. An oil rig in Second Life.

A little investigation lead me to a pipe terminating 3 sims away !! That’s a fair distance in SL. I tried to enter it and had to make a mini-me so I would fit (I’m quite a tall feller). I could go much further than a couple of bends, due to some barriers in the way.

Returning back to the Oil Rig, I manage to obtain the following information:

  1. Hamlet Linden knows of it’s existance.
  2. Hamlet Linden has a sense of humour (he made jokes about Greenpeace furries chaining themselves to the rig, which never took place of course).
  3. Bub Linden denies it’s existance.
  4. Bub Linden denies the existance of Hamlet Linden.
  5. Bug Linden wears breathing apperatus to protect himself from the noxious fumes emmited into the SL Biosphere.
  6. The Rig appears to be Govenor Linden’s office, although it is made by Eric Linden and others.
  7. The office appears to contain a few post-katrina B&W shots.
  8. The map in the office indicates it supplies quite a few regions with something. And I mean quite a lot.
  9. The Rig appears to produce prims. Constantly.

Yes it appears that the prims in Second Life are produced in much the same way oil is- an entirely non-eco friendly process.

I took a lot of photos. Just short of 70 in fact. These photos, and others will be uploaded to my Flickr account once I have upgraded it to premium. If I upload all the photos onto my Flickr account, everything else will get chucked off/hidden.

Photos, along with conversations with Bub and Hamlet Linden will be posted eventually, if not shortly.
