After a short conversation with Marc, I uploaded the Sounds Alive photos taken May 17th 2003 (well, at least according to Flickr that’s when they were taken) at the Community Theatre, Peterlee. Back then it was just the plain old theatre.
Currently, the photos aren’t viewable by just anyone. This is so the people in the photos have a chance to request the photos to be taken down. And also so Proctor can figure out which of the photos he took so I can credit them accordingly (I’ll have to ask Marc to get Proctor to log on to Flickr cos I don’t have his email no more). Eventually, I plan to open up the photos to the Flickr viewin’ public.
It appears Sky are dragging their heals with regards to getting Rapture back on the air.
A recent fire in London destroyed a whole lot of for-sale, replacement and DVD master discs, setting the industry back a few months. Not very nice.
4Kids, those purveyors of annoying crap and a few gems, in what appears to be a move of political correctness or racism, has been fooling around with the TV show One Piece.
Like masturbation is a sin, and victims of rape can’t abort babies, one of the latest piles of crap to come out of the catholic rear end (as opposed to it’s mouth, which it does come out with intelligent stuff occasionally, I just don’t care about it as much) is that video games cause aggression in boys. As opposed to letting them play with toy guns, teaching them negative gender biases (women belong in the kitchen, forcing them to play sports etc).
A recent study has shown that gamers are watching less and less TV. This is probably because games are getting better and better, whereas TV is going down the plug hole with all the adverts and crappy reality programming.
The customer is always right. The only time a game store worker/manager/etc should ever comment negatively towards customers purchases’ is when it is blatantly obvious some idiot is buying GTA for their 10 year old.
You can just be sitting there, doodling on your DS, and somebody joins in over the wireless connection. And another. And another…..
Looks like some French or Greek assholes are ripping off some of my favourite artists- Fred Galagher and Hawk by putting their designs onto stationary products.
I found the photos. I found them :-). I knew I had them on CD somewhere, and I found them.
What am I talking about you might ask ? The photos of The Product, a talented group of musicians who have now gone onto other bands such as Blackbird State and Hollowvibe. One member has rumoured to have become a red coat.
There’s a lot of photos to go through, although unfortunately, it looks like a lot of the May 2003 photos are only thumbnail sizes. I’ll get them up on my Flickr account when I have the time and after I’ve talked to some of the people in the photos about them.
Expect the weekly news roundup later today.
Black holes are effectively things where you can chuck stuff in and you’ll never be able to get it back. Data black holes are those annoying hard disks where you stuff data in and can’t get it back. I recently posted a bunch of photos from a backup CD to my Flickr account (I’d post the link to it here, but seeing as how the photos are private, it’d be kinda pointless. The link is on my links list anyway), and I thought I’d see what other photos I could dig out.
I remembered I didn’t totally wipe one of the hard disks I used to have. Except I should have. Aside from a quick reminder of why I took the hard disk out of the computer in the first place, the files with the photos in (7-zip archives) where totally buggered. I think I have others on CD, but the chances of me finding fresh copies of the old The Product photos are only slightly better than me finding fresh copies of the old Pincer/The Pincer Movement photos. On the other hand, I did find fresh copies of the preliminary work I did for F.O.S.. In the unlikely event people read this and they want to see it, comments are there for a reason.
Now I know this isn’t real world news, but i found it interesting just the same. It’s a case of 2x0=0. Sore Thumbs is an interesting web comic, give it a read.
People more intelligent than either Moore or Thompson have done a study which proves, as every other intelligent person knows, that computer games don’t cause violence on their own.
Everybody with any common sense knows that if you go out and kill somebody ‘because’ of a video game, then you’re probably mentally/chemically unbalanced in the first place and shouldn’t have been allowed to play games with violence. That includes those whack-a-mole games with the foam hammer in the arcade.
The RI Ass. of America has acknowledged what could be construed an admittance that they know that suing downloaders is stupid: More people get music illegally via counterfeit CD’s than off the Net.
The Register recently reported that a study showed that Firefox usage was dropping. Which as pointed out in an email to them by Math Campbell, is a bunch of bullshit.
The new Gamecube Zelda game is being moved from around xmas to at least April next year.
Now I don’t want to belittle the skill and danger, that the astronauts on board the recent Shuttle mission were in, but it was effectively just a combined pizza delivery/trash truck that needed it’s tire changing on the way back to the depot.
Proof that Yahoo need to get back to their core services instead of trying to play catchup with Google (Flickr is a great service, but Chat, IM, and Search tools all suck.). The recent claim that they have more documents listed in their indexed is rubbished by a scientific analysis.
Scientists have created a battery powered by piss. Yes, piss.
Although this Halo mod is primarily for the PC, it is apparently possible that a version will end up being available to play on the Xbox.
Once again, Microsoft are being stingy bastards. During a simultaneous world-wide release of a console, you’d expect console prices to be pretty much the same, taking into account any minor fluctuations in the exchange rates. When speaking in units of Ã?£100, is there anyone who would define Ã?£60 as a minor fluctuation ?
The famous equation is now a century old. I was watching a documentary on Einstein’s theories, and it made me realise one of the things one of the characters said in Dragonball Z- the thing where Trunks went to like Saiyen 3 or 4 and couldn’t move as fast. The extra energy increased his mass to a point where his speed was reduced.
People seem to be kicking up a fuss about Micro$ucks putting syndication support into IE7. Firefox has had this for ages.
I’ve just stumbled across a search result that is totally full of SPAM accounts, possibly created by the at a certain marketing website. I’ve filled in the abuse report like I normally do when I find animal or child porn, or anything else I think shouldn’t be there. I regularly come across SPAM accounts when using yahoo, but never to the degree like this. Yahoo seriously needs to get it’s act together and fix the problems with it’s core services- Search, Chat, Instant Messenger. Yahoo’s recent claims of having a bigger index than Google have been rubbished; Yahoo’s chat service got closed down because advertisers weren’t happy with their adverts being shown to paedophiles; Instant Messenger by itself isn’t so bad, but if it were good enough for everyone, why are there so many addons from third parties ?
